  • 52 (2nd Semester)

So, it's certainly been a while since i last updated this thing, so i figured today i might as well.  Not too much going on, and i've been feeling the need to come back here for a while. so here goes

well, the big thing in my life is still fencing.  It's been occupying most of the time in my life, giving me pretty much zero time for stuff outside of it.  In ways, i definitely don't feel as close to my floor as i used to be, but there's not too much i can do about that, unfortunately.  Oh well, i'll find time eventually

Been traveling a lot with fencing.  I think its been almost 4 or 5 weekends in a row where i haven't been on campus for a weekend to actually go out or enjoy myself with my friends.  Dont get me wrong, its loads of fun to be going to these tournaments and competitions, but i'd definitely enjoy a little more time to do other things.

4 months with Kelsey now, and im enjoying every second of it.  She makes me happy, and im pretty sure im doing the same with her.  This relationship has been much more relaxing than many of the other relationships i've been in, letting me focus on the fun, rather than all the little worries that have plagued my other ones.  It's relaxing.

Also, getting back into doing commissions again.  Almost forgot how much fun i get out of writing music.  I've got about 4 or 5 projects at the moment, but its not too many considering their difficulty.  Just a couple of things to crank out.  Maybe i'll post them at some point

Oh well, off to fencing practice.
Maybe i'll get around to writing a more thoughtful entry soon, i hope.

  • 49 (summer)

well its been a while since i've last updated.  Im finally well into my summer vacation and a number of things to talk about

    Graduation:
well, it went just as i thought it would
the feelings of accomplishment, and finality
looking around and wondering if i would see many of them ever again
looking around and going "That kid went to our school?"

    and such and such

my speech went how i thought it would.  I've been told it was a powerful and inspiring speech, but i'll let you guys be the judge of it.  Here it is, if you haven't seen it yet

Then came the storm of graduation parties.  After the 6th one or so, i got tired of them and actually kinda didn't look forward to going to them.   All-partied out would be the term.  Still a few more to go.... *sigh*

Overall though, i feel glad.  Im officially done with high school, and the feeling of being done is pretty good.

    Orientation:
I went to University of Maryland's Honors Orientation on June 11th-12th.  It was quite an experience.  I met many of my peers for the first time, and found them to be quite an enjoyable group.  I also met my roommate, a Daniel Choquette (SP? i still need to figure out how to say it right), and i think i'll enjoy myself at CP immensely.  I also found that its impossible to escape the singers.  They will always be around you. EVERYWHERE.   Regardless of that, i think i'll survive

    Computer/Technology:

Well, if this wasn't already obvious, i've been assembling a monster rig for college for the past few weeks.  Recently, this case just came in :

I Installed all the components and got it ready to run.  Then i never checked the back of it properly, and to my dismay, the Power supply unit exploded on me (yes, literally.  it sparked, then flames burst out of it).  So my computer as of now is fried.  Im really hoping it wasn't the motherboard as well, as that would really put a huge dampner of my plans.  But for now, the computer is out of commission.  After hearing this, my parents just made me stop working on it, and told me they were buying me a macbook pro instead of me bringing the evil demon machine and a netbook.  I suppose i cant complain, i was NOT expecting that response.  But all in all, i say thats not a bad result from an exploded PSU.  Im also getting a new phone.  At the moment, i think im getting the LG EnV touch, but i kinda like the LG Versa also.  If you guys have any reccomendations/testimony, id appreciate it.

I guess that sums up the most recent developments for me.  Not too much has happened in terms of "drama" i suppose, but who knows?  summer brings plenty of suprises.  Im looking forward to them

  • 48 (pre-graduation)

So there are a lot of thoughts going through my head right now about graduation.
right now, i've just been practicing my speech over and over and over
    and over

i think you get the point.
but despite me doing all of this, i know im not going to be prepared.
Im making a huge step tomorrow in my life.

Blah. i cant get my thoughts straight right now.  I suppose i'll clean up my thoughts and post tomorrow

Im really excited to graduate though.
    College, here i come

  • 47 (Memorial Weekend)

I meant to post this last night, but i fell asleep.  whoops
I'd like to share a line from Obama's Speech yesterday during memorial weekend

"For the Families of the Fallen, Just one stone stands out - The stone that needs no map to find."

    Here's the speech

Even as we enter our summer vacation, never forget those who fight so that we're able to enjoy such a thing
